The Experience

A restaurant-caliber evening, in your own home

There's something different about a chef cooking in your own kitchen — the smell of the first course as it's plated a few feet away, the conversation that happens naturally when there's no crowd, no noise, no one else's night but yours.

Chef Rafael brings a decade of Napa Valley wine-estate experience directly into your home — a multi-course dinner built entirely around your taste, your guests, and your evening, with no set menu and no limit on what's possible.

Cooking, Just for You

The evenings I enjoy the most

"There's a different kind of energy in an intimate dinner — no crowd, no noise, just the people at the table. I get to cook, talk with guests, explain a dish as I plate it. After a decade of large wine-estate events, these smaller evenings are some of my favorite work."

Private dinner FAQs

The questions people ask most before booking an in-home evening with Chef Rafael.

He works primarily with your kitchen's existing equipment, and brings any specialty tools a particular menu requires. A quick conversation ahead of the evening confirms your kitchen has what's needed for the menu you've chosen.
Most home kitchens work just fine — Chef Rafael is used to cooking in a range of home setups, not just large estate kitchens. Menus can be adapted to fit your space and equipment comfortably.
No — intimate dinners for two are just as welcome as evenings for a larger group. Pricing is based on the menu and guest count, so reach out with your specific evening in mind for a custom quote.
Absolutely. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-specific needs are worked into the menu during your consultation, so every guest at the table is fully taken care of.
A few weeks' notice is generally enough for a private dinner, though weekends and peak wine-country season (May–October) fill faster. The earlier you reach out, the more flexibility you'll have on dates.
Yes. Ingredient sourcing, preparation, tableside service, and full kitchen cleanup afterward are all part of the experience — your kitchen is left exactly as it was found.
Chef Rafael is based in wine country and primarily serves homes in Napa Valley and Sonoma County. For dinners further out, reach out directly — travel arrangements can sometimes be made.
For larger or more elaborate menus, a tasting can be arranged as part of the planning process. For smaller evenings, the menu is refined together during your consultation instead.
